LATE PLAYER REGISTRATION AND THE CONSQUENCES

Will all clubs please take note of the following statement of clarification on the registering of players prior to the start of the new season and the actions that will be taken if all is not in the correct place.

Clubs are reminded of rule 8 (b) parr 3

“Registration forms must be forwarded to arrive on the 15th August in each
year for a player to be eligible to play in the first fixture of the season. All teams to have
eleven players registered on or before the 15th August or be fined £5.00.”

The term “first fixture” means the first fixture, albeit league or cup, of any particular
teams’ fixtures at the start of the season.
If, for any reason, a club has requested that the first day fixture of the new season be
cancelled, then the next full fixture, designated by the league, shall become the “first”
fixture and the rule shall apply whereby only the players registered on 15th August shall
be allowed to play.

If that first fixture should happen to be a cup game and a team is unable to field more
than seven players because of the above mentioned rule, and therefore would be unable
to fulfill the cup fixture, then that team will be removed from the competition and an
unfulfilled fixture fine will be implemented.
If a team should play any player registered after 15th August in an early season cup
game then a fine will be implemented against an un-registered player and if the team
had won a game which included an un-registered player, it will be removed from the
competition and the losing side will be re-instated

If a team has not registered at least the 11 players required by 15th August the rule shall
apply and only those players, up to the 11 registered shall be eligible for the first fixture.
Any players registered after 15th August shall not be eligible to play until the second or
subsequent fixtures.

If a team is unable to field at least seven players because of the above mentioned rule,
and therefore would be unable to fulfill a league fixture, then that will result in an
unfulfilled fixture and a fine will be implemented and the fixture having to be
re-arranged at the discretion of the divisional secretary.

Clubs are advised that the Hampshire Football Association rules state that a player must
be registered with the league seven days prior to the date of a Hampshire Cup fixture,
therefore the deadline to be eligible for the Hampshire Cup 1st Round is 4th September
2010.
